 Got a question for you

1. If you could only read three books for the next 3 years, what would they be?

Assata by Assata Shakur

Zami by Audrey Lorde

A collection of poetry by Nikki Giovanni

2. Who’s your favorite person in black history?

Madame C.J. Walker

3. What woman influenced your love for books the most?

It wasn't a woman lol! It was my dad! He’s a big reader, so he influenced my reading the most. If i had to say a woman, it would have to be my aunt who used to give me comic books all the time.

4. If you could recommend a book to your 13 year old self, what would it be?

The body keeps the score or being the child of an emotionally immature parent.

5. Fav new to you author?

SA Crosby. I’m reading his razor blade tears. I’m enjoying myself, I'm going in blind and I’m okay with that. I love the way he describes emotions.

6. Why do you write?

To feel. I’ve numbed so much of my feelings to the point of not being able to feel anything. Writing helps me dig through the muck that I’ve created and put a name to a feeling and it lets me put down things I’ve held onto for a long time. Even though I write sweet and cute things it helps create new synapses in my brain and I hope it does the same for others.
